The major problem with with farming on the Great Plains is the soil.  Even the soil is fertile, and very good for farming, there is one major thing that caused the soil to be unprofitable.  This one problem was that as the farmers plowed the feilds, the soil loosened and blew away because of the geological features surrounding it.  Now, it is known at the dust bowl, because all the fertile topsoil blew away.

Question:
Were there any steps that the farmers took to try to prevent the blowing away of the surface dirt.

Change and Continuity
1) What has changed?
Now days we have tecniques for combating the top soil from blowing away, and now days, a lot more of the process is robotic/ mechanized.
2) What has remained the same?
One thing that is still the same is that we still farm, and we still rely on produce for most of our diet.
3) Who has benefited from these changes?
All the workers have benefited, because it is less work for them now.  And also, inventers have benefited, because they are getting money from their farm machinery patents.
4) Who has not benefited? And why?
Some workers haven't benefited, because they may have lost jobs due to the new machienery.
